January was School Board Recognition Month. We want to thank our five School Board members for their service to Wapakoneta City Schools! Our members are:
Mr. Brian Cossel-He has been on the School Board for five years and serves on the Athletic Board/Parent Information Group, and the Performing Arts Center Committee. He will be our new Vice President for 2022.
Mr. Josh Little-He has been a Board Member for 7 years and will be or past President. Mr. Little is on the Finance Committee and is the Legislative Liasion.
Mr. Ron Mertz-Ron has been a Board Member for 21 years. He has served in many roles during that time, but currently serves on the Facilities Committee, is the Student Liasion, and part of the Performing Arts Center Committee. In addition, Mr. Mertz is the Apollo representative.
Mr. Gregg Ruppert-He has been a Board Member for 4 years and will be assuming the responsibilities of Board President. He serves on the Athletic Board/Parent Information Board and is also a member of the Finance Committee.
Mr. Willie Sammetinger-Willie has been on the Board for 16 years. He is a member of our Facilities Committee and the High School Athletic Board/Parent Information Group.
Even though we see board meetings taking place once a month, there is much, much more that goes into being a board member. Phone calls, emails, events, and big decisions are all part of job that may not always receive a thank you, but truly make a huge impact on our outstanding school system.
