September has provided our students with several valuable opportunities to explore their futures beyond high school.

Our junior class recently attended the Mission Discovery event at the Auglaize County Fairgrounds. This event brought together a variety of local businesses and employers, giving our students the opportunity to learn about different careers and job opportunities available within our area. Students were able to interact directly with local employers, ask questions, and gain a better understanding of the many career paths available to them. Our students really enjoyed the experience, and it was great to see them actively engaged in conversations about their futures.

Our 10th-grade students also had an opportunity to explore postsecondary options through our Careers course. Students visited The Ohio State University at Lima, Rhodes State College, and Wright State University–Lake Campus. These visits allowed students to experience local college campuses firsthand and learn more about the programs and educational opportunities available close to home. Exposing students to these options early in their high school careers is an important part of helping them begin thinking about their plans after graduation.

A special thank you goes to everyone involved in making these field trips possible. Opportunities like these require a tremendous amount of organization, communication, and planning. We greatly appreciate the efforts of our staff, community partners, local employers, colleges, and everyone else who helped provide these meaningful experiences for our students.
