Counselor's Message
I am excited to welcome everyone back for another great year at Cridersville Elementary. I look forward to continuing to build relationships with our students and families while supporting each child's academic, social, and emotional growth throughout the school year.
As the counselor, I work alongside our administration, teachers, staff, and families to help create a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment where every student can thrive. My role is to support students not only academically but also socially and emotionally by helping them develop skills in emotional regulation, problem-solving, healthy relationships, resilience, and conflict resolution.
Throughout the year, I meet with students individually, facilitate small groups, and provide classroom lessons designed to meet the needs of our school community. I also love creating fun opportunities that help build connections and strengthen our school culture. Whether it's themed spirit weeks, kindness initiatives, school-wide activities, or special events, I enjoy finding creative ways to make learning about emotions, friendships, and character both engaging and memorable.
One of my goals is to help make social-emotional learning a natural part of each school day. By encouraging kindness, empathy, perseverance, self-awareness, and responsible decision-making in everyday moments, we can provide students with skills that will benefit them both inside and outside the classroom. I believe social-emotional learning is most effective when it's woven into everyday experiences, helping students build confidence, strengthen relationships, and develop the skills they need to succeed both in school and in life.
Partnering with families is an important part of helping students succeed.
