WHS Announcements

The Wapakoneta Community Foundation should be announcing its winners soon.  

 

Juniors, colleges are announcing many virtual tours.  Check them out online when you have some time.  It's a great way to learn more about college and college majors.

 

If you are looking for a summer job, be sure and check out Ohio Means Jobs to learn about work in our area.

 

Senior Boys, if you are attending UC this fall, consider applying for the SigEp Balanced Man Scholarship.  It can be found online; the deadline to apply is June 1, 2020.

 

For those who plan to take any CCP class next year, whether on the WHS campus or at a college location, you HAVE to turn in an Intent to Participate form by May 15 (this is an extended date from April 1.)  Also, you HAVE to register with the college that you will earn credit from by May 15.  Email your counselor with questions.

 

If you are interested in a career in the mental health field, consider applying for the PASS Summer Youth Program.  This will give you the chance to earn some money while learning more about a career.  Visit passaah.org to learn more and apply.  The deadline to apply is June 1.

 

Seniors, be sure and  make your commitments to college soon.  While there are definitely some questions about what college will look like, it is important to be in contact with your prospects.  Call them to ask questions or email.  

 

FYI:  The ACT is developing some at-home ACT ideas.  More information will be coming soon.  Stay tuned.  The summer tests are still available with a late testing dates the week after the original.

 

While the WHS building is closed, many staff members are there.  Parents, if you have questions, please email your teachers, counselors, etc. first.  We will make a plan to work with you either with a phone call or a visit.  

 

The last day of school is May 22.  We will have a virtual graduation on May 23...as planned.  More information will be coming about this soon.

 

Seniors, make sure that your school fees are paid prior to graduation.  If you have questions about the amount owed, please contact your school counselor.
