Senior Information Form

Happy Birthday today to Isaiah Daniels, Cassie Shroyer, Morgan Snyder, Makayla Srihanouvong, and Levi Plaugher.

Want to surprise that special someone with a sweet treat before Christmas break?  The Gatekeepers will be taking candy cane orders during all lunch mods the week of 12/9-12/13 for 50 cents each or 3 for $1.  Candy canes will be delivered during RR the beginning of exam week.

It's that time of year! Seniors, please begin submitting your senior photos to the yearbook. Send them to Mrs. LaMarr at lamahe@wapak.org.  You also need to go onto wapak.org and complete the Senior Info form. It can be found under the morning announcements on the high school site..  The end is near! Let's make it a great one!! 

There are several spots still available to donate blood December 11 (next Wednesday).  Please see Mrs. Courter in B104 ASAP if you are interested. You must be 16 or older to donate.  If you are 16 or 17, you must get a parent release form. Please get that form from Mrs. Courter in B104.  You will not be able to donate without it.

Don't stress out about exams!  Join Mrs. Epperly for yoga on Friday, December 13th during RR.  Sign up in the Guidance Office.

Attention French Club members! We are having a Christmas Movie Night on Tuesday, December 10 at 3:30 pm in the Large Group Room. We will have pizza, door prizes, and bring your favorite Christmas dessert for our dessert contest! Prizes to first and second place winners!

Hometown holiday is looking for kids to dress up in costumes this Saturday from 9:30-1:00. It’s a good way to give back to your community, get your volunteer work in and also looks good on your college application, all kids 15 and up are welcome. If you would like to help out please give Allison DuBois a call at Woodys Diner. 419.738.9111

The Student Library Committee would like to invite you to get in the spirit of the holidays.  The group will be holding our annual door decorating contest for all RR classrooms. The theme this year is Christmas Around the World. Let your imagination go wild!  Judging will be Thursday,December 19th during RR. The winning RR class will be rewarded with doughnuts on Friday, December 20th. We encourage everyone to join in the fun! Please fill out the form and return it to Mrs. Pulley no later than December 13th if you wish to participate.

Sollman Electric out of Sidney, OH, reminds you about thinking of becoming and electrician.  There are numerous jobs in this field that pay well. Miami Valley Career Center in Piqua and Miami Valley College are great resources for getting this degree.

 

Seniors, a copy of the Senior Announcements was made available for conferences.  If you did not get a copy, please stop in the Guidance Office and pick one up.

 

If you are interested in taking a practice ACT test after school, sign up in the Guidance Office.  You will take one test per day after school in preparation for the December 14 ACT.

 

 

Mrs. Epperly will offer a YOGA session during RR on Friday, December.  Sign up in the Guidance Office to be signed out of RR.

 

The Gatekeepers will be selling candy canes soon.  A table will be set up in the cafeteria during lunches.  You can buy one for fifty cents or three for a dollar.

 

Purdue University in Fort Wayne has several upcoming events for those interested in music.  Check them out online.

 

AMDA is a college for the arts:  dancing, singing, performing and acting.  Check them out online if this is your future.  


Meetings

On Monday, December 9, Wapakoneta High School will be having the National Guard come into the school to meet with interested students.  Staff Sergeant Michael Spees will be at the school during homeroom to meet with juniors and seniors to discuss opportunities and benefits that the National Guard provides.  Please sign up with the guidance department if you are interested in learning about the National Guard and how they can pay 100% of your college tuition.

 

Looking for a way to focus on positivity?  Spread kindness? Have fun? Make friends? Belong to a group with cool tshirts?  Join the Gatekeepers. We will be meeting on Tuesday, December 10th in the library at 7:25 a.m.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

 

Scholarships

Celina Insurance Company has a scholarship available to those going into actuarial science, computer science, communications, finance, pre-law or insurance.  If this describes you, get a copy of their application in the Guidance Office.

 

If your family uses Pioneer Electric, there is a scholarship application in the Guidance Office.  All members' children are eligible.

 

Epison Sigma Alpha has over two hundred scholarships available online for those interested.   Check out the website today; deadline for applications is January 31, 2020. Give this a look as there is a five dollar fee for processing.

 

Midmark has a scholarship available for those going into an engineering program after high school.  Applications for the Midmark Scholarship are only available online.  

 

Sports

The football banquet is Thursday night at 5:30 pm in the high school cafeteria.  Freshman players should bring a 12 pack of hamburger buns, sophomores a side dish to share, juniors a side dish to share, and seniors a dessert to share. 


There will be a work out for all softball pitchers 9th to 12th grade on Friday after school from 3:00 to 3:45.  See Mr. Sammons if there are questions.
