Julie Miars Golden is a graduate of Anna High
School. Mrs. Golden has been the Director of
Instruction for Wapakoneta City Schools since June,
2001. She received both her Undergraduate
degree and Master's degree at Bowling Green State
University. When asked what made her decide to
become Director of Instruction at Wapak, she said,
"It was a natural progression for me to move
from Principal to Director. I think I can see
the "Big Picture" and wanted to help our
district progress."
Mrs. Golden states that the duties of her job are
to provide staff development opportunities for staff
regarding technology, state standards, and best
teaching practices. She also assists with
curriculum development, textbook selections, and
continuous improvement planning.

Providing training for teachers that they think is worthwhile
and beneficial is what she likes best about her
job. The constant change of mandates from the
State and Federal Departments of Education is what
she likes least about her job.
During her career with Wapakoneta City Schools,
Mrs. Golden's goals are to help the district improve
reading skills, continue to increase our success
rate on the District Report Card, and tap our
teachers' talents to share with their colleagues
through in-services.
